Linked library data
Speakers: Jindřich Mynarz
The Web has now become the dominant information environment. For libraries to become a part of this information ecosystem, their data must be transformed to fit within the capabilities and constraints of the Web architecture. Linked data offers a web-native publishing model built around the fundamental web technologies, which makes it particularly suited for library data on the Web. The transition from legacy library data to web-compatible linked data involves re-thinking focused on making the data more interconnected, interoperable, standardized, linkable, and ultimately more useful.
