Seminar: Knowledge–Assisted Multimedia Analysis, Fuzzy DL, Fuzzy SWRL, Fuzzy Carin – report from visit to Athens

We will discuss the possibility of using (semantic) knowledge for the analysis and retrieval of image and video. Work on this topic is carried out at the Image, Video and Multimedia Systems Lab of NTUA, Athens. Within the K–Space project, VŠE will contribute to this work by: 1) using rule–based reasoning (implemented in NEST) for low–level image segmentation and classification 2) ontology–based reasonig for content description. We will present first ideas for both of these research directions.
