Seminář: Semantic Wiki as a knowledge base management system

Wiki systems have a long tradition at Sun Microsystems as they allow the knowledge workers (designers, developers, testers and managers) to contribute the contents rapidly. However, finding the right information has always been a problem. Full text search may fulfill some of the use cases, however it is insufficient in many others. We can see a solution in the introduction of semantic web technologies; specifically in a Semantic Wiki. We have based our work on the integration and extension of existing solutions, including the RDF backend and infrastructure; and we are further focusing on ease of use as the main means of lowering the barrier for participation. In this talk we will cover current issues of the software engineering organization, give an overview of state of the art and present our ongoing work in this area.
