Ontologies matching, data interlinking, and the role of patterns
Prezentující: Francois Scharffe
Using instance data is an efficient method to find correspondences between ontologies. This method was long underrated as little data was available. For a few years, large quantities of semantic data have been published as linked-data. This data gives a second life to instance-based ontology matching techniques. It also raises a new problem: interconnecting instances across datasets. Ontology engineering based on patterns brings another ingredient in the ontology matching sauce that we argue has an important effect on the process. In this talk, we will see how matching ontologies and matching instances can benefit from each other, and also see what is the role of patterns in the matching process.
