Seminář: Practical Applications of Semantic Web Technologies in Domain-specific Information Systems

While Semantic Web concepts and technologies are well established in the scientific domain, their adoption in the developer community is still lagging behind. This is despite the fact that in the world of ever growing amount of data and the increasing importance of their quality, Semantic Web with its ability to precisely define semantics and infer implicit knowledge is a natural solution to many problems. We argue that one of the main reasons is the lack of mature tools.
In this talk, I will introduce JOPA, a persistence layer for the Semantic Web. I will also present examples of real-world information systems based on our Semantic Web development stack.
