Semantic web services and user goal definition problems

Prezentující: Andrej Holúbek

Presentation of work done during an internship at DERI, Galway. A problem of user definition of goals in semantic web services. Semantic web services brings new potentional to internet usage. I will present problems of SW, its structure and specification using WSMO elements and their representation in Web Service Modelling Language (WSML). To use semantic web services by users on Internet, a specification of goals should be simpler without knowing WSML or any other specification. I will try to present some solutions of user friendly definitions of goal and the relations between goals and services.

I will give a brief overview and present a demo of DINO (Dynamics INtegration and Ontology) integration manager which is a GUI interface for DINO ontology integration library [2] developed by Vit Novacek [1]. Afterwards I will speak about original plans we had and why we were not able to achieve them in the end and I will spend some time talking about Protege ontology editor and Java tools dealing with RDF I encountered such as SemVersion (RDF versioning system) [3], RDF2Go (abstraction layer over RDF repositories) [4] and RDFReactor (means of handling RDF within Java) [5] as well.
